Nose
Aromas of plum, lilac, and sage.
Palate
Notes of dark fruit flavors like black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry with hints of thyme and clove. Our Petit Verdot is a bold and robust, fill bodied, dry red that has high tannins.
Winemaking
The grapes are stemmed and slightly crushed, then fermented at a cool temperature. The grapes are consistently punched down during fermentation to release color and tannins from the skins into the wine. After alcoholic fermentation the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, giving the wine a more buttery flavor and mouthfeel.
Appearance
Deep red hue.
Food Pairing
Rich meats such as lamb or veal, aged cheeses, and stews will all compliment this wine very well. Barbecued meats will offer a nice contrast to Petit Verdot as well.
