Welcome to Pindar Vineyards. We are the perfect blend of history and forward thinking. Pindar Vineyards was born of the vision of Dr. Herodotus "Dan" Damianos and his great love for wine. He is known as one of the original pioneers of Long Island Wine Country and started our story in 1979.
As A family, we collectively run the vineyard, winery and tasting room with a creative motivation-one of growth, both in the vineyard and in our presence in wine country. We continue to grow over twenty varieties of grapes and produce a unique selection of wine styles- from bold red blends, to steel fermented, fruit forward whites. We pride ourselves on brining personal, first-class service to our guests. Our goal is to help everyone find a favorite here! A complex Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Decanting will open up hints of black currant and plum on the nose and earthy notes of dried cherries, and toasted vanilla. 

Brut Nature

White

Crafted in the classic méthode Champenoise, produced from 100% Pinot Meunier grapes and cellared on its own lees, our cuvée is just off dry with a magnificent cordon of bubbles and a hint of ripe apples and sourdough. 

Brut

Classic Brut, light and just off-dry with pleasing floral and sweet bread aromas. Delightfully effervescent with fine cordons of lively bubbles.

This is a big wine with solid black and red fruit notes. Oak aging lends it hints of vanilla and toast. Ready to enjoy now, but it will continue gaining complexity for many years. Superb with robust dishes, including duck, salmon, and beef.

A medium bodied red wine with rustic tannins from subtle oak aging.  The nose shows violet floral notes with tart raspberry on the palate.  Great with beef steaks and seared tuna.

Limited production.  500ml bottles.

Rosé

Our Rosé shows notes nectarine and melon on the nose.  The palate offers wild strawberry.  Great with seafood, chicken or just cheese & crackers and fruit.

The nose shows roses, ginger and allspice, while the palate is tangerine, apricot and pineapple.  Serve this off-dry wine chilled with spicy foods, sea foods, poultry and soft, mild cheeses.

White Blend

This Riesling is bursting with peach, green apple and complex floral notes of jasmine on the nose. The taste is like a fruit cocktail, medium sweet with a pleasant finish.  Balanced and zesty, it is a great picnic wine or paired with spicy Ethnic dishes. 

A soft, semi-sweet red wine which may be served chilled. Perfect for BBQ fare, Spanish, Indian & Asian cuisines. Makes a great sangria!

The grapes for this wine came from a special vineyard site of only 3.9 acres. This limited special reserve is lightly oaked and has vanilla and caramel notes, with a back palate of apple and pear. Perfectly balanced with a bright splash of acidity, is it a magnificent pairing for lobster and tangy salads.

Long Island's most popular white wine, this is an off-dry blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Cayuga. Semi-sweet and refreshingly well-balanced with floral aromas

Barrel Select with a fruit forward palate of black cherry and plum with a pleasant smokiness.

Sweet

This stunningly rich and complex dessert wine is sweet and fruity, with concentrated flavors of apricot, honey, and passion fruit.

Pindar Vineyards produced Long Island's first Syrah and it continues to be one of our standouts.  Soft, bright and juicy, it has a lightly peppery nose with leather, red berry and lavender notes.  Full, earthy flavors of spice, bacon, vanilla, toast and oak.

This wine opens with aromas of white peach, lemon grass and a hint of straw.  The palate has lemon and green apple up front , followed by a long finish due to its great acidity. Pair this with shellfish and other local seafood favorites, a pasta primavera or creamy, mild cheeses.

Opens with pear on the nose.  Lush Ruby Red grapefruit and lime on the palate with a crisp finish.  Pair with light pasta & seafood dishes, and fruit and cheeses.

Crisp, lively Chardonnay with hints of pear, apple and peaches.  Semi-sweet on the finish.  Stainless steel fermented.

Viognier Blend

Honeysuckle and citrus blossom on the nose with notes of mango and tropical fruits on the palate.  A blend of Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. It's fresh acidity is perfect with appetizers, shellfish and light poultry.  An excellent food wine.

This special red was first crafted to celebrate our 15th anniversary of winemaking on Long Island. It has the round and full characteristics of Merlot with the slight herbal notes of Cabernets.

Fortified

Selected Cabernet Franc grapes are aged in small oak barrels for two years to create this deep and hearty vintage Port.

Aromas of allspice and plum.  An Old World style red wine with cherry and balanced acidity.  

An earthy, medium bodied red with notes of red berries.  This wine finishes with a delicate grace.

Barrel Select with notes of vanilla, currant & blackberry.

This light blush wine is an off-dry Rose of Merlot grapes, fermented with cranberries for a hint of acidity. 

Spring Splendor

A dry white wine, clean and crisp -- like a fine Pinot Gris, with mineral notes and a grapefruit character.

Autumn Gold

Our famous Blush Wine, imitated by many but never duplicated. This semi-dry Rosé is made with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with a unique subtle strawberry flavor. 

Summer Blush

A light bodied red wine that can be served slightly chilled or at room temperature. Perfect wine for dinner, or just plain sipping.
