Palate
This Riesling yields lush tropical fruit aromas and flavors of citrus and ripe pineapple accented by rich honey overtones.
Growing Conditions
The 2011 season started with a very wet spring, hot and dry July and August then a wet fall again. Harvest towards the end of October was well rewarded by a much drier and warmer period with superior results.
Harvest
The 2011 vintage comes entirely from our oldest Riesling block, planted in 1979.
Bottling
January 19, 2012. Stelvin closure.
Limited quantities, Library Wine. Club membership required for access.
Winemaking
We ferment our Riesling at cool temperatures to preserve the delicate fruit character and bottle early, allowing it to gain complexity in the bottle.
Aging
Our experience has shown that, given proper storage conditions, Riesling from Wagner Vineyards will continue to improve and develop for 5 - 7 years.
Food Pairing
Delicious alone or with chicken, pork or Asian dishes.
