Growing Conditions

The 2018 spring and summer months were unseasonably dry and hot. All looked rosy until August 14th at 2am when the skies let loose and we received 7" of rainfall in a six hour period.

Harvest

We started harvest on August 20th, about ten days ahead of the typical start.

Winemaking

Malolactic fermentation on skins until dry.

Aging

Aging took place in American oak barrels of various ages for one year, with individual barrels selected for the final blend.

This Merlot is soft and food friendly. This versatile wine will go well with most meals - try it with grilled red meats, roast chicken, and savory vegetarian dishes.
